SWSX and More

21 Mar

March has been a busy month. It started out with a faboloso party for Erin 25th Birthday. She was quite the birthday lady…and we all had a blast.

The next day the Sad Accordians headed to Houston to play at a fundraiser and boy it was fun…

Then Peter and I headed to Arkansas. While there i had a little reunion with a few of of my highschool girlfriends. I hadn’t seen some since i graduated in 1995 – yes i am that old.

From there we spent Saturday night with Jon and Des in Dallas, we had great fun catching up. Destiny is ‘great with child’ and we’re all hoping she has Lyric soon.

The next day was the start of SXSW. We had four extra people staying with us in our two bedroom apartment (that we already share with my sister) it was so much fun. Angie came to visit and then three guys from Israel – Adam Rosenfeld, Omri and John from the band ‘Man Alive’.

So, we got our SXSW on. I saw quite a few shows including Richard Swift, whom i love now, and Shapes and Sizes, Yellow Fever, MuteMath, Meryll, Balmoreah, gosh so many more, like a hundred gazillion 13, but i can’t remember exactly.

On Sunday we attended the lovely wedding of Todd and Jamie – (Todd took our photgraphs for our wedding) it was a great night. From there we headed to the carousel for one last night of musical fun. That night we said g’bye to our friends :(.

Monday was back to reality.

I’ve included pictures for your viewing pleasure…

Today Is Good

3 Mar

Five years ago, if you had said joy, you’ll live in Austin, be married to a super cool musician, get paid to be artistic, go kayaking on weekends, and have a personal trainer. I would have probably been struck with unbelief.

But today, it’s all true. Austin this time of year is perfect. I wish I could hit the pause button and keep it that way. In a month i’m sure it’ll be nice and swank with 100 degree hotness all around and i’ll be cursing the sun with my tight, squinted eyes.

Today it is good. Today I am thankful.

Next month will be one year and six months of marriage. And yes, we still feel like newlyweds. I think the allotted time is two years, so back off all of you who roll your eyes at this. We still got seven months of permitable time to be NW. And then after that, if it bother’s you find a hobby to keep your mind on better things.

Last weekend we went kayaking with Ann and Frank. Delightful except for ann’s peeling skin. seriously, layers of flesh falling of of her. Poor thing. We tried to feed pieces of it to her dog. (just kidding). From there we went to Baby A’s and i had the strongest Margarita i’ve ever had in my life. It knocked me flat. Apparently it had everclear in it. Hmm. And i went to bed that night at 7:30pm and slept till 7:30am. How’s that for beauty rest?

I also have a Personal Trainer. What in God’s name? I know you think it strange. But i felt like it was time to get serious. I mean, grunt and push through the pain serious. I mean sweat pouring from your arms serious. I mean collapsing into the fetal position when it’s done serious (sing with me “i enjoy being a girl”). So far, it’s been challenging but also really rewarding. Everyone should have a trainer. I don’t wish for world peace anymore, I wish for a personal trainer for everyone. – cue good music and dancing tigers as oprah hands out free personal trainers.

Peter and I are moving. The news is out. We’ll be gone by the 22nd of June. Come visit us in Israel if you want. If ya aint scard. Find us and we’ll tell you more.

Drug Induced Sleep

10 Feb

That’s right Bob. I slept till noon.

Well, I did get up at 5:30am grinding my teeth so I surfed the web for dental insurance options, and then I had breakfast with peter, a delicious bowl of oatmeal (that he made). He left for work around 6:30am and then I went back to bed – and slept till noon and had the most prolific dreams, such as being a spy (a normal dream for me) and a water gymnast, whatever that means.

I’m sick with something. It could be the flu but i’m not sure. I could go to the doctor, but it’s such a bother, because well, these things just go away after a while.

I had one of the busiest weeks of work ever. Working till 6-7pm most of nights this week because of several print deadlines, and being sick just wasn’t an option. So when last night came, i welcomed the chance to finally acknowledge how crappy i felt…

R and R…that’s it for me. You won’t see me this weekend cuz I look and feel horrible (see picture). And honestly, you don’t want to see me, because I might sneeze on you – eeew.
