I am Joy, a happily married mother of two waterbirthed babies. I am a doula and a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator, who worked as a midwife's assistant at a freestanding birth center in TX. As of 2015, I'm a full-time nursing student who teaches childbirth classes at Park Ridge Health, The Baby Place, in Hendersonville, NC. I love serving laboring moms and I enjoy teaching birth education. I use this blog to write about it all - my life, my children, and my passion of all things childbirth.

Just so you don’t give out false information, this is what a delivery room in Germany looks like. You don’t always get to labor in there. They generally have 1-3 delivery rooms (maybe more if it’s is a really big city) and so it is shared and used only for delivery. Not the labor inc portion. Labor is done walking the halls or in your very boring and uncomfortable shared room on the maternity ward. You only get to labor in the delivery room if you get an epidural. I would know because I gave birth in Germnany.
I had many personal accounts of women who birthed in hospital rooms across Germany that looked very much like this one, so it can vary with each hospital.
