Zoe walks up to me with her pig, sets it on the table, points to its “knobs” and says,
“Mommy, these are the pig’s knobs and they’re for feeding her babies.”
Way to make me proud, Zoe! Yes, they are for feeding her babies.

I am Joy, a happily married mother of two waterbirthed babies. I am a DONA trained doula, a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator, and I've worked as a midwife's assistant at a freestanding birth center. In May of 2010, I attended my first birth as a doula and have since had the pleasure of serving over 50 mothers with their births.
